01-18-08

September 28th, 2007 by Shaun

  • 01-18-08 / Cloverfield …

  • This is old news I know but when I first saw this trailer while at the theatre for Transformers this summer I instantly wanted to see it. Looking back on it at the time it did succeed in peaking my interest but I have since become annoyed. Cloverfield (Old Working Title - Code Name) 01-18-08 or whatever the hell it will eventually be called is still a mystery. I’m not surprised given the fact that it’s a J.J. Abrams film, but I mean damn dude give us something.

  • Rumors …

  • So many rumors and very little facts can be found while surfing the web at this point. True the teaser is meant to incite interest which is what it did but months later the lack of information is just pissing people off. It appears as though it will be a “Godzilla like” monster attack film based in New York given the size of the scratches on the Statue of Liberty and the fact it tore her damn head off but Godzilla it is not. J.J. needs to get off his high horse and give us something to work with. ARGH!! Either way it should make for an interesting film.

    Don’t Tase Me Bro …

    September 21st, 2007 by Shaun

  • Andrew Meyer …

  • Andrew Meyer, an instant celebrity of rather humorous proportions. I’m not sure if the authorities who were on scene were actual Police Officers or Rent-A-Cops, but after seeing a few tapes you could probably make a case they may have acted improperly. My view on it however is simply that the man got what he deserved. Meyer was resisting arrest and was clearly over acting in both his rant and during the tazing incident. I’m usually the first to cry foul if for nothing more then to start a flaming debate but I can’t argue with this one.

  • Common Sense …

  • He was unresponsive to the orders given to him by the authorities while running around the room like a jackass. When they couldn’t cuff him they threw some voltage into his ass. If anything they should have done it sooner before he turned it into a circus. If they had done it sooner it would barely have been a footnote on the evening news.

If you want to argue with the PO-lice that’s fine, but if you have half a brain you challenge the charges after arrest not act out like a moron and resist during the arrest. That’s how you get tased or pepper sprayed or club or shot and so on. Common sense my brother. Personally I found it funny and I laughed when I saw it. Don’t like it? To bad so sad!

  • Financial Gain …

  • I knew from the first time I saw the video on the news that this was an entrepreneur’s dream. The very same day the don’t tase me bro t-shirts, decals, window clings, bumper stickers and everything else you can think of popped up all over the net. In truth if I had seen it sooner my ass would have been on Cafepress making up some t-shirts myself. I’ve been told that anyone trying to make a buck off of this poor “kid” should be ashamed of themselves. My response to that is …Are you kidding me? HuH?!

  • Lawsuit …

  • Meyer is a damn fool and while it’s obvious to me that he isn’t quite right in the head, any decent lawyer would probably have no problem getting him a nice healthy settlement based on the video evidence. This man is not a victim. He instigated the situation and will undoubtedly profit from it himself so why shouldn’t the rest of us? Capitalism, ever heard of it? ..Deal with it.

  • Don’t Tase/Taze Me Bro!! …

  • The Bill O’Reilly Don’t Taze Me Bro Bumper Sticker. I saw this coming after the Wednesday night segment with Miller …LOL.

    NASTY … !!!

    September 19th, 2007 by Shaun

  • Ugh …

  • I can tolerate most of the critters that populate the world but there are a few exceptions. Firstly I have an unwarranted phobia with Mosquitoes. It probably manifests itself from the fact that I have the immune system of that of a small child or a 90 year old and West Nile just isn’t my thing. I suppose I shouldn’t be living next to creek but whatever.

Now I love fall but one thing I cannot stand about this time of year is all the damn bugs want make their way indoors. Where I live this is the time of year where Spiders make themselves at home and I cannot stand spiders. I am a bitch when it comes to these things. I’ll step in front of a bus tomorrow for a friend but these things …nope won’t do it. Just nasty ass little creepy bastards. I can tolerate the little ones and in fact I tend to let them go because they clean the house of the tiny airborne pests that come in when you live in the burbs …..BUT

  • Just Nasty …

  • When you roll out of bed put your feet down and see the carpet move …..I mean damn. I grabbed a plastic cup stuck his ass inside and compared him side by side to a quarter. He was BIGGER then the quarter!! This is the third one I caught over the last week. So I took his ass to the bug place (I forget the name) to find out it’s one of any number of Garden Spiders. This is good a good thing as it isn’t going to kill me but I still don’t want the little prick scurrying across my foot when I roll out of bed ….UGH

I’m also beyond karma conscious so instead of killing it I let it go after I got back from the bug place. I dumped his ass like way up the street and the next day I shit you not a spider looking identical to it had a web spun on my porch. Maybe he is stalking my ass. I can’t wait for winter then I won’t have to deal with them again until next year.

    Football Cometh …

    September 3rd, 2007 by Shaun

  • Ah September …

  • September is always a good time of the year. It usually means that the heat of summer will soon break if it hasn’t done so already. It usually means all the kids that are normally running around pissing you off are back in school and out your hair …and so on and so on. September means a lot of things but most importantly it means football!

  • College …

  • The NCAA kicked off it’s fall season this weekend with a lot of the normal not so spectacular boring ass 60 point spreads and a few surprising games that were actually worth watching. Appalachian State upset #5 Michigan 34-32 and in the process cost me $100.00 as it was my only loss on this week’s football ticket. Michigan looked disgraceful and should consider itself lucky if it remains in the top 20.

  • NFL …

  • This week the NFL gets going with its season opener on Thursday (September 6th) with a potential Super Bowl XLII preview featuring New Orleans VS Indianapolis. While I have no love for either of these two teams I’ll still more then likely find myself in front of the TV on Thursday night taking in the game.

  • Another Long Season …

  • As much as I love football I’m not looking forward to the long season I feel I’m in for as a Chiefs fan. It should however make for some interesting weekends throwing shit around my house over the usual dropped passes and other bonehead plays that seem to plague me every year.

In the end though I suppose it could be worse …I could be an Eagles fan. The Eagles have been to the 2000’s what the Buffalo Bills were to the early 1990’s.

  • Relief …

  • The season shouldn’t be a total loss now that LJ is back in camp and ready to run against Texas in the opener. That is of course assuming he doesn’t break his leg or have his head fall off in some freak accident.

All I know is it’s time for some football.
